While I was pregnant, it was difficult to work on the pottery wheel.  As an alternative, I began creating orbs out of two pinch pots, then adding details and textures found in nature.  The results were not all functional, and some of the objects that were born from this technique are my favorite little things I have created in a while.  Holding them in my hands now, I realize they are a physical manifestation of my feelings on my impending motherhood.  Inside each of these tiny wombs lived inchoate energy, waiting for me to act upon it…and waiting to interact with me.
